Mechanical Design
The role of the accelerator is to apply energy from radio frequency waves to charged particles such as electrons and protons and accelerate them to near the speed of light. The particle accelerator is used in a variety of researches.
For example, forcing these extremely fast-moving and high-energy particles to collide with one another and researching into their states can benefit the validation of the laws of physics.
Also, the synchrotron radiation, i.e. light with extremely short wavelengths, emitted by bending the orbit of high-energy electrons has been used in medical field researches.
Based on its research and development experience in the accelerator field, BMI has performed various mechanical designs in the accelerator field, including Photo Cathode type Electron accelerator (UED), Microtron type Tera-hertz wave generator, and Multi-purpose synchrotron accelerator.
